Why is everyone looking for PWA, even Google

Just a few months ago, Microsoft announced that it was not going to launch any new models of Windows Phone. With Microsoft failing to gain a share of the mobile market, Microsoft’s adventure in the handset has failed. One reason for this failure is the inability to compete with a large number of Android apps and iOs.

The same monopoly that Microsoft has on desktop computers has Google and Apple in the mobile industry. If a company wants to launch a new app today, it will first go to Android. Android has the largest number of users. Then it comes to the iPhone as the most popular. But no one is wasting their time and energy on Windows Phone.

But the game with PWA takes a different form. PWA software does not require an AppStore. These apps run in a browser or quasi-browser and are no longer dependent on any particular operating system.

Why Microsoft?

This is very important for Microsoft. Because using PWA can break Google’s monopoly. Microsoft has done all it can to add more features to the PWA Edge browser. The company has also introduced some of its software into PWA. One version of Outlook and OneDrive is now available as PWA. Microsoft is going to release more software with this new technology.

This behavior is justified by Microsoft. But why is Google still beating PWA so much? Don’t they own the biggest mobile app market?

Why Google?

At this year’s Google I /O conference, many sessions were dedicated to praising PWA. The reason is that with PWA, users return to browsers again. Again Google’s search engine becomes the main search engine for the app, which means selling more ads.

Meanwhile, when all the work of an app is done through a browser such as Chrome, Google can hear traffic again and see what happens in the background of user behavior. Something that was not possible in Android apps with web services.

Why Companies?

Another advantage of using PWA is that it greatly reduces the cost of implementing and managing the app. Companies no longer have to pay a few Android and iOS developers to update their mobile apps. The same programmers who implement the site are also implementing the app. However, the cost of maintenance is greatly reduced.

Why Users?

Another fact is that users will also welcome PWA. On average, each user only installs 28 apps on their handsets, using only 4 of them in 80% of cases. There are so many apps that you don’t need every day. For example, how many times a year do you buy digital goods to install the app store on your phone? Are you checking your email or checking your cloud drive every day? Do you order food every day? All these apps occupy the volume of the phone and slow it down. With PWA everything is in the browser and you can access it whenever you need it.

the future?

Twitter has taken a big step towards PWA’s popularity with the launch of Twitter Lite. Other software companies are also quickly adopting this new technology. Since PWA is a win-win game for everyone, it is expected much sooner than it is thought to open its way to programmers and users. Are you ready for this new challenge as well?
